I had my sweet mama in mind as I made these cards. I know it’s only April, but I suppose it’s never too early to start thinking Mother’s Day. Better yet, don’t wait for a dedicated day. Instead, surprise someone you love with a happy hello just because. The Love Jar Kit makes it easy to put something special together.
Wreath Love
Send some love in the form of a wreath. Clear stamps make it easy, because you can shape them. I took the straight stems in this set for a curve to form my wreath, using a heart stamp as a placeholder to mark where I would ultimately add my heart tag. (I didn’t actually stamp the heart, however. It was merely for spacing on the wreath.)
I then filled in the rest of the wreath using various leaf stamps from the set. I then machine stitched around the wreath for a bit more texture.
Once the wreath was in full bloom, I added floral accents from this gorgeous kit. I love the way the accents bring the card front to life.
I die cut the heart tag for my sentiment using the kit’s included die. To give the sentiment piece a bit more oomph, I then matted it on pink paper from the included 6x6 paper pad.
Hello, Jar-ling!
This darling jar shaker has so much creative potential.
There are a number of different toppings in this kit. Any of them would look divine in a shaker jar. I went with all wood pieces, simply because I liked the idea of flowers resting in a vase of wood bits.
For the stems, I first stamped and then hand stitched along the stamped area using the included baker’s twine.
To create the sentiment, I die cut two tags—one from white cardstock and one from pink patterned paper. I then trimmed the white one down and matted it on the pink.
I love that the sentiments in this kit would work for any number of occasions. Or, as I said before, they’re great just-because greetings as well. There’s no time like the present to send someone a happy hello. I hope you have fun putting yours together.
Cheers!
