Kim Watson here today with a sweet-as-can-be layout using the adorable Fruit Basket Shaker Kit ! Tell me those teeny fruit fimo bits are just the cutest thing you've ever seen?!
For this page I decided to create a fruit basket of fruit accents with a variety of shaker pieces as well as flat versions for variety. They are so adorable I wanted them to take center stage on my page. To give them pride of place, I positioned the fruit under three photos like a shelf, embellishing them with white bling accents & small punched flowers. The understated B & W photos really compliment the bright colors of the shaker accents!
TIP: To create the fruit patterned page border, I took a single 6x6 piece of Fruit Basket paper & cut it into .075" strips which I stuck edge to edge, to create the illusion of a 12x12 piece of paper.
I made the fruit embellishments using the following supplies::
- Grapefruit using the 1/2 citrus slice die, foam shaker & grapefruit toppings
- Watermelon using the melon die, foam shaker & watermelon toppings
- Strawberry using the strawberry die & stalk, foam shaker & strawberry toppings
- A flat lime slice using the 1/4 citrus slice die & twinkle drops
- A flat strawberry using the inside piece from the strawberry die & stalk die
- A flat lemon slice using the /2 citrus slice die
A bright strawberry with lime green leaf, really makes the white flowers pop!
A sunny yellow grapefruit teamed with a tangy lime slice...add punch to the right side of the page.
A smaller strawberry with glossy accents stripes, coordinated with a lemon slice, white accents & x2 rows of pretty bakers twine create the perfect border cluster.
For an eye catching 'journaling/title', I simply stamped a few of the sentiments found in the Fruit Basket Shaker Kit together. They double up as journaling as well as a title. By using different color inks & matting the white journal spot onto pink, makes this a wonderful focal point.
I have to say, this page makes me so happy!! I hope it has inspired you to grab a Fruit Basket Shaker kit & try something similar.
Thanks for stopping by the Queen & Company blog.
