There’s nothing like taking a day away from diaper changing and laundry to make you feel like royalty. That’s the magical feeling teaching at the Queen for a Day event left me with earlier this month. Wanting to capture that sweet escape, I made this page for my scrapbook.
When I thought about how to document this fun using the new Tag Shaker Kit, the flag-shaped tag jumped out at me. Its points were a crown in the making!
Originally, I stopped with some pen doodling, but something didn’t feel right…
My husband to the rescue. I love having someone who genuinely cares about what I do to bounce ideas off of when I’m feeling stuck. We brainstormed a bit, and the crown evolved. I suggested covering the pen lines with small strips of paper.
Cory offered up the idea of a row of gems along the bottom, which I love! Nothing like bling to make a crown affair feel complete.
I placed the journaling in another tag from the kit, which makes reading it a bit more exciting.
To ground the page, I matted it on white cardstock and stitched it in place. I also added some pen doodling.
I just adore the rainbow paper in the Flirty Floral paper pad, so I decided to make my crown have a rainbow feel by adding pink and orange toppings to the first tag, green and yellow to the second, and blue and purple to the third. I also topped each point on the crown with those same colors, using Epoxy Dots.
I’ve had such fun watching the month of tag creations take shape. From darling snowmen to photo-filled tags, there is so much you can do with this cute kit. I hope you’ll have fun with it.
Cheers!
