Re-purposing Decor - Star Shaped Shaker

Re-purposing Decor - Star Shaped Shaker

Save those 4th of July projects and re-use them for Labor day!  How about a couple of shaker accents to put some pop in your advanced party and planning?

SPARKLING CENTERPIECE
Dress up your holiday table with a centerpiece that goes from day to night, 4th of July to Labor Day!.

During the day, this project works as a fun parade or party shaker.  Or just plain fun your your littles!

To attach your shaker, simply poke the sharp end of the sparkler through the foam or through the crepe paper. Another easy way to attach is to use washi tape.

When the sun goes down, simply remove the shaker and strike a match to get your party started. You can even save the shaker to be used again next year or to be used as a scrapbook accent when it comes time to document your adventure.

To create this shaker, I pleated a strip of crepe paper in a circle and stitched the center to hold it in place. I then adhered a shaker on top using the Star Shaker Kit.

This is simple enough that you can make enough for every guest. Or, to save some time, mix your shakers with other “flowers,” such as felt poms and/or stars.

FESTIVE PAPER CLIP
Dressing up a planner with seasonal paper clips is a fun way to take your to-dos up a notch. Wanting an Americana clip, I attached a star shaker to a paper clip and filled it with bitty star toppings. I love the way this looks peeking out of my planner.

Of course, it helps to have the clip be double sided, as you can view your planner from either side. With that in mind, I stamped a star using a stamp from the Star Shaker Kit and used it and a spot of glue to sandwich the clip to other star.

I love the way cute clips look peeking out of my planner.

I hope these ideas have sparked your imagination.   We encourage you to reuse your crafty creations from one holiday to the next!

Cheers!
Megan
