Watermelon Pie!

Watermelon Pie!

Hey everyone!
Nicole here today to share a fun and colorful project using the August Fruit Basket kit! I LOVE all the bright color in this kit, and went a little crazy making a background using one of the dies in the kit, along with the Fruit Paper pad.
I started out with the watermelon slice die from the Fruit Basket kit and the paper pad. I love looking at an item and trying to think of different ways to use it. I saw the watermelon slice as one piece of a pie and went from there. I die cut several slices of watermelon from the various B-Sides of the paper pad and laid them out in piecharts on my page.
I did my best to alternate through all the different patterns I had selected from the paper pad, and using the die made this task simple and easy! Once all the pie charts were in place, I stitched them down and then added some stamped sentiments to the centers of some using the sentiment stamps from the kit.
I couldn't resist using the adorable fruit shaker toppings in this kit, so I added some to the sentiments as small embellishments on my page, along with some of the clear dots as well!
I hope you are inspired to think outside the fruit shapes and create your own project with this fun kit!
