Hi everyone, Kim here with x2 new cards featuring the super fun Birthday Shaped Shaker Kit. This set comes with x3 different dies & foam shapes, & coordinates with the fantastic Birthday Stamp set, making it really versatile for either card or layout.
My first card focuses on the cake slice & candle. Cutting the cake from white cardstock, allowed me to ink pink frosting, leaving the sides neutral to show off the ombre frosting filling layers 'inside' the cake.
Placed on a yellow patterned paper circle makes the colors of the fillers pop! Did you notice how cute the fillers are?? Teeny hearts, flowers & stars...they are so adorable teamed with patterned paper as frosting layers. Stamping the sentiment onto a white circle, together with a button & twine finish off the cluster perfectly.
Lastly a patterned paper banner & twine along the top edge of the card really give the card a celebratory vibe. I can't wait for someone to have a birthday, because it is going to be a hit...that is for sure.
My next card showcases the party hat & another of the stamps in the set.
Ink & splatters make the perfect background for this card. To really make it colorful & festive, I layered x4 different color paper strips on the bottom edge, coordinating with the ink colors.
Cutting the hat from white cardstock, allowed me to ink the edges in turquoise, I selected pink & orange fillers to further the bright color theme. Circles raised on foam adhesive make the card lovely & dimensional.
By lining up the stamped sentiment with the edge of the striped circle & pink paper strip, it helped to control the design, drawing one's eye to all the different areas of interest. Enamel dots add understated 'sparkle', exactly what was needed for such a festive card.
