How To Use Foam and Acetate Sheets to Make Shakers

How To Use Foam and Acetate Sheets to Make Shakers 0

Hi Queen and Co fans!
Rebecca here with a couple of new shaker cards made with the Foam and Acetate refill sheets. There are a couple of extra steps that you need to take if you are making a shaker from the sheets versus from a Queen and Co Shaker Card Kit.
For example, you have to die cut the foam yourself. Any of the Queen and Co Foam Front Dies perfectly create card sized shakers.
You will also need to cut your own card base and provide your own envelope.
But these extra steps only take a few minutes and, with the refill sheets, you are able to create any shaker that you have the die to create.
Check out this quick video where I show all the steps to create a shaker card using a Foam Front Die and the refill sheets.

How to Create Ombre Shaker Cards

How to Create Ombre Shaker Cards 0

Hey Queen and Co fans!
Rebecca here with two new cards featuring Queen and Co. fabulous shaker products.
Once you realize how easy it is to create shaker cards with Queen and Co Foam Front Card Kits, dies and Toppings, you can start getting fancy! I wanted my shaker cards to have an ombre look, so I created a front panel with a blended Distress Ink background and filled my shakers with a variety of Toppings in different hues.

Start with a smooth piece of white cardstock slightly larger than 4.25 x 5x5 inches. Ink the cardstock with inks creating an ombre effect. I used Tim Holtz Distress inks because they are easy to blend, but any inks you have will work.
Cut the card panel with a Shaker Die that has a repetitive pattern like the Chevron or Dots.
Put your shaker card together using a variety of Toppings. The great thing about owning several sets of Toppings is that each color in the sets has a slightly different hue. Cover the completed shaker with your inked card panel and add a few coordinating embellishments and you’re done! Ombre shakers can be bright and summery and are perfect for a variety of occasions!

Unique Backgrounds - Pretty Presents Shaker Kit

Unique Backgrounds - Pretty Presents Shaker Kit 0

Hi Queen and Co fans!
Rebecca Keppel here with two more birthday shaker cards made with the Queen and Co. June kit, Pretty Presents. I decided to make some unique backgrounds for these cards. For the first I used leftover scrap strips from the 6x6 Pretty Presents mat stack.

First I covered a 4.25 x 5.5 inch piece of white cardstock with a thin double sided adhesive. (I use Therm O Web Easy Cut sheets). Then lay the 6 inch strips of patterned paper diagonally across the card base. Once all the adhesive is covered simply flip the whole thing over and either use a trimmer or scissors to cut off the extra. Then cut the shaped shaker out of glitter cardstock. I love the way the glitter stands out on the fun patterned background.

For the second card, I used one of the sentiment greetings from the kit stamps set to make my background.

I grabbed three ink colors that coordinated with the patterned papers from the Pretty Presents mat stack and stamped one greeting multiple times in each of the colors.

Then I die cut three shaped shakers from the 3 coordinating pattern colors I chose.

Of course the mat stack and plain white cardstock make great backgrounds for the June Kit, but I had fun mixing up my backgrounds for these cards! This is also a great way to stretch your kit and use up scraps too!
