Summer Shaker Cards!

Summer Shaker Cards! 1

Hello there Queen & Company fans!
Michele Boyer here today, sharing a bit of summer using two Foam Front Shaker kits.
On my first card, I used a Waves Foam Front kit. (Stamps from Paper Smooches.) Before adhering the pre-cut foam, I attached a blue pattern from Picture Perfect Mat Stack. Inside the openings, I placed white and blue Pops along with pink and blue Fimo Fun toppings.  One of the bonuses of the Fimo Fun toppings is that the pieces are flat and can easily be adhered as embellishments as I’ve done with the pink hearts. (Posies are wonderful embellishments also!)
After filling the openings, I attached the acetate panel with Scrap Happy Sheer Glue, adhered the pre-cut card front and stamped pieces then tied a bit of blue Sparkle String.
Next I used a Polkas Foam Front kit to create a super-summery hello. Behind the foam I placed a sheet of yellow Delightful Dots then filled the openings with Bright Pearlies and Pastel Diamonds. The diamonds are my favorite of the toppings. They add SO much sparkle!
In addition to the sparkle of the diamonds, I adhered yellow and orange Iridescent Flowers as well as a bit of yellow Sparkle String. So much shine on this one!

How to Create Ombre Shaker Cards

How to Create Ombre Shaker Cards 0

Hey Queen and Co fans!
Rebecca here with two new cards featuring Queen and Co. fabulous shaker products.
Once you realize how easy it is to create shaker cards with Queen and Co Foam Front Card Kits, dies and Toppings, you can start getting fancy! I wanted my shaker cards to have an ombre look, so I created a front panel with a blended Distress Ink background and filled my shakers with a variety of Toppings in different hues.

Start with a smooth piece of white cardstock slightly larger than 4.25 x 5x5 inches. Ink the cardstock with inks creating an ombre effect. I used Tim Holtz Distress inks because they are easy to blend, but any inks you have will work.
Cut the card panel with a Shaker Die that has a repetitive pattern like the Chevron or Dots.
Put your shaker card together using a variety of Toppings. The great thing about owning several sets of Toppings is that each color in the sets has a slightly different hue. Cover the completed shaker with your inked card panel and add a few coordinating embellishments and you’re done! Ombre shakers can be bright and summery and are perfect for a variety of occasions!
